Application and Hiring Process

APPLICATION PROCESS:

The applicant must complete a written application.  This application is available from this website and may be printed or completed digitally. You may deliver the completed and signed application in person, during regular business hours  (8 AM-4 PM Monday-Friday), email it to application@dicksoncosheriff.gov or mail it to:

Pay Scale:

Corrections Floor/Booking Deputy- top out $43,638.40

Tower Operator- top out $38,251.20

​

Patrol Deputy- top out $52,665.00

​

Civil Service Written Exam – 
The applicant must pass a written examination given by the Dickson County Civil Service Board to be eligible to proceed in the hiring process.

​

Background Check –
A detailed background check is required of all applicants.

​

Physical Agility Course –
The Dickson County PACE course is administered by Dickson County Training Division to ensure applicants are fit and able to complete law enforcement related tasks.

​

Oral Interview with Sheriff’s Office Board –

This is conducted immediately following the completion of the Physical Agility Course.

​

Physical/Drug Screen –
Applicants must be able to pass a physical and a drug screen.
